A legendary mountaineering and ski resort, Zermatt is one of the most sought after locations in the Swiss Alps. The Matterhorn mountains include the famous pyramid shaped peak which inspired the Toblerone chocolate.
Everything in Zermatt is highly expensive and very touristic. The beautiful, picturesque town is car free, so if you are planning to visit by car, you need to park it outside the area in a private parking. We tried the Welcome Parking as suggested by the hotel and it cost us 120SF for 4 days including the rides to and from the hotel.
Almost like out of a postcard, Zermatt is a bucket list destination, even for non skiers.
