The Passorn Thai restaurant situation seemed unusual. For many reasons:
First, it is a Thai restaurant situated in a quiet Scottish residential neighborhood (a 10 minute taxi drive from the heart of Edinburgh). It is a small venue accommodating no more than 25 diners.
Then it was the fact that even though we had made a reservation they claimed that we didn't have one. We did get seated by the way as it was not a busy day (only 8 people inside). But if it were a busy night we would have not had a place to eat.
The restaurant seemed to attract an older crowd mostly which seemed to be enjoying something else (except food) going on in this restaurant. The kitchen in the back sounded more of an episode of kitchen nightmares! Screaming and yelling was heard all way to the dining room. Some customers however, found it amusing and laughed a lot, obviously enjoying the side show. It was kind of authentic and cute in a certain way...
