Located in the Northern part of Belgium in Flanders, Ghent is a picturesque little town with a population of a quarter of a million. The city is well known for its cosmopolitan ambience, whilst being subtle and peaceful at the same time.
So many UNESCO protected historical buildings, recognized as World Heritage Sites, make up the most amazing backdrop, for a city that looks like it came out of Medieval fairy tail. The large pedestrian zone located in the city center, provides a link to the various historical attractions which are situated in nearby. It is also an important port, the third largest in Belgium.
It is linked with a train line 30 minutes away from Brussels, Bruges and it is so worth it.
