It is hard not to like the Spanish retro theme at Nino Vieja. The restaurant with a capacity of approximately 20-25 guests, feels like an authentic Spanish coffee shop located somewhere in the Mexico dessert! Plus it has tablecloths just like grandmas!
The waiters were friendly and professional taking the time to explain everything. So, once the Mexican ambience sets in and the new amigos are introduced, its time for the food.
A tiny bucket with an order sheet inside, invites guests to check what they fancy eating. Pretty simple. The menu was not long, yet it included a vast variety of options including Sea Urchin, Tuna, Foie etc. We tried the guacamole which was served with crackers, the squid and tacos. The meat was served on a miniature grill with real hot charcoal at the bottom, which means the smokiness of the meat was real! Desserts were also a big success.
Nino Viejo is not just about food though...
