Located right on the lake as if it is floating, Restaurant Piccolo Lago enjoys a privileged view and a 2 Michelin star status.
On the day of the visit, we chose to have the long surprise menu for €150, but there were less pricey options with less dishes. The range of food served was extensive and included fish from the lake, snails, rabbit, veal tail, 6 kinds of tomatos and lots of other interesting produce. All well prepared and beautifully presented. A lot of hard work goes into the menu and it shows in the complexity of the dishes, not so in the techniques but in the flavors.
Best to go early and enjoy the view, otherwise you miss the magic landscape. Also do allow some extra time if you are traveling by car, as the GPS may have a hard time locating it. We put Verbania first and once there, search for restaurants nearby to find it.
