Pla is a cozy, traditional tapas bar, which has a surprisingly adventurous menu. Fresh ingredients, a creative chef and a cozy place in the heart of a magnificent old neighborhood. Now that's a successful Catalan tapas combo in Barcelona.
With choices such as Tarte tadin with curry, chocolate with wassabe, the ambitious menu makes a good first impression. For starters, we tried a fantastic foie with with assorted gelatin, fresh mackerel salad which was a hit again and beef tartar which we loved for its freshens.
For mains we had the beef cheeks, the steak with foie (Rossini) and the pork. Everything was satisfying but the pork stood out for its tenderness and taste. I don’t think I ever had pork that good in my life without paying an arm and a leg!
Service was friendly and fast.
A useful tip for getting there if you are driving...
