"Once every year, on the 8th of December, the Pontific himself visits."

Located in the Piazza Mignanelli, close to the Spanish Steps, the Column of the Immaculate Conception dates back to the 19^th century and was built to celebrate the eponymous dogma. It includes a Corinthian column, Biblical figure statues and a bronze Virgin Mary statue stomping a serpent. Once every year, on the 8^th of December, the Pontific himself visits and places flowers on the monument.
