"Santa Margherita Ligure is a good option to base your trip to the Riviera."

Located next to Portofino, the resort village of Santa Margherita Ligure is a good option to base your trip to the Italian Riviera. That is because is located between Cinque Terre and Portofino, it is fairly bigger compared to Portofino and has many hotel options at better prices (a 5 star hotel in Portofino can cost you up to €1,000 in August).

There are many beaches packed with tourists, water sports, boat tours, a harbor and stunning sea views throughout the village.

The connection with other places is done by train, bus, boat or by car (preferably small)...
