"Compared to other royal residences, this one is different."

Compared to other royal residences, the Prince’s Palace of Monaco is different. It does not have the exterior glamor of the European palaces as it was a fortress protecting the Grimaldi family, rather than their swank getaway.

Prince’s Palace of Monaco was built in the 12^th century and suffered numerous times from attacks, the latest one being in the 18^th century.

You can catch a glimpse of it on the hop-on hop-off little bus.
