A good example of Catalan Gothic, Santa Maria del Mar Basilica, is located in the Ribera district of Barcelona, since the 13th century. This church is mostly admired for its unity of style, which is not common for this kind of size Medieval structures.
The detailed work on the walls, the façades, the windows, and the side chapels survived the test of time with the help of some later additions, even though a destructive fire and an earthquake did damage some parts.
