The Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola in Rome is a Jesuit church in Baroque style and dates back to the 16^th century. It is unique because of its ceiling, painted by Andrea Pozzo, which has three dimensional illusionary frescoes, achieved by their perspective. The painting in fact appears to be an extension of the building so the illustrated figures seem to be floating.

Makes you wonder where today's street artists get their inspiration!

The whole scene partly resembles Michelangelo's Cappella Sistine so it is worth a visit.
