Its reputation precedes the restaurant itself as it ranks on top of Mont Michelin with 3 shiny stars for years. The legendary restaurant Arzak handles public relations and marketing extremely well.
On the day of the visit, the restaurant was just opening when we arrived at 8.30 (reservation was at 8.45) and we were asked to wait at the not so glamorous reception area. We ordered 2 glasses of champagne and waited patiently the call to get inside. Meanwhile, they let approximately 20 people inside, while we were still waiting in the tiny reception / bar area. That felt quite disrespectful. Eventually, we had to ask whether it was time for us to go in, and they let us.
The room had modern decoration and the tables were simple but smart. Our waiter spoke English and we ordered the Degustation menu. It was a small and intimate environment and we could observe everything which was going on in the room...
