A true gem, hidden away in a narrow street in the lower part of Bonnieux, L’Arome is the restaurant you shouldn’t miss in the area. The chef Jean-Michel Pages and Clara are rocking fine dining yet casual, in a place where you least expect it.
We run into L'Arome completely by chance while strolling the narrow cobbled streets of Bonnieux and we just walked in. Smart choice.
A refreshing beet root mousse, with tiny brunoise vegetables such as carrot, horseradish, zucchini and tomato concasse amongst them. Sounds good, looks even better! Followed by Foie gras pate which was served with homemade bread staffed with dried fruit. Aubergade caviar with EVOO and tomato concasse was also a good choice.
For mains we had lamb, which was extra juicy. Garlic and basil gave it an intense flavor, completed with miniature ratatouille. Fish was fresh, well cooked with a light Mouseline on the site...
